Joey Pepperoni's Groupon Offer

Few days ago, I was finally able to redeem my second Groupon purchase. A Joey Pepperoni meal at 50% off. The voucher values at Php685 but lucky me only paid Php90 because I was given an exclusive Php250 credit voucher for my last product purchase. Im not really into group buying sites as I read a lot of negative feedbacks from online customers, plus I too, experience a whopping 3 months worth of waiting just to get my first purchase. But that Php250 credit was just too tempting to use, and I'm glad I did click that Buy Now! button :)

I guess restaurant offers are a lot easier to redeem than buying actual products and travel deals, cheap food offers like this is less risky in my opinion.

Midnight Merienda: Pizza Pasta Perfecto

One late evening, my brother gave me this pasta plate as pasalubong. He knows I'll be working late that night, thus the sweet gesture and perfect for a midnight snack. I was feeling a bit hungry too but Pizza Hut for me is simply for pizza and I'm not so gaga about their Pasta Perfecto. But since I find the take out packaging interesting, I started to dig in.

My midnight snack ^-^

Cooked al dente with savory sweet Bolognese sauce and Italian meatballs, Pizza Hut's Spaghetti Bolognese is an an all-time favorite priced at Php139 (regular)

Jollibee: Chicken and Mushroom Pasta

Jollibee's Chicken and Mushroom Pasta
Went to Manila last week and felt the craziness and stress of the holiday rush. There's heavy traffic on the road and human traffic inside malls, making it too dreadful even for a former-city girl like me. I waited for a friend at Landmark and decided to kill time at the foodcourt until I chanced upon Jollibee's newest offering (not highly commercialized though) Chicken and Mushroom Pasta. It looks promising as per their poster and it sets me up for a high expectation. Unfortunately, it didn't deliver much for me, nothing memorable and would personally stick to their signature meat spaghetti dish.

Recipe: Pork Pasta in White Sauce

This recipe was inspired from another pasta recipe called Roast Beef Pasta and was as usual prepared according to what we have in the kitchen. With a little of bit substitution happening on this newborn recipe, I am glad I'm learning a lot from my kitchen experiences. Here goes my version of Pork Pasta in White Sauce which I find a cheaper alternative to the usual Spaghetti.

Ingredients:
440g spaghetti pasta
1/4k ground pork
salt and pepper
1/4 cup magnolia gold butter (unsalted)
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 pc. red bell pepper, diced
2 cup pork broth
1 tsp liquid seasoning
cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 cup grated cheese

Procedure:
1. Cook pasta according to package direction and set aside.
2. Season the ground pork with salt and pepper and pan fry. Set aside.
3. In a saucepan, melt butter and then whisk in the flour making sure no lumps are formed.
4. Add in the bell pepper and cook for a minute.
5. Gradually add the pork broth then simmer until slightly thickened.
6. Add in the cooked pork together with its juices and liquid seasoning. Let simmer for 5 minutes over low heat. Adjust seasoning according to taste.

Pour over pork mixture over pasta. Serve hot topped with grated cheese and parsley.

Shakey's Monster Meal Graduation Dinner

Last March, two of my siblings graduated from Highschool. It was a great day for all of us, yey no more highschool student!!! After the graduation ceremony, we headed straight home and waited eagerly for Shakey's Monster meal I ordered 5 hours ago (I requested for a 7pm delivery). We were delighted to see the huge servings but was too disappointed when I found out the deliveryman didn't know about my mode of payment so he didn't bring that swipe machine. Well that's bad, I certainly did my part, noting online and thru phone about my preferred payment. I talked to their customer service beforehand and confirmed that I will be paying thru credit card- a disappointing service right there.  And so I paid cash...
Shakey's monster meal deal
The meal was really good, it certainly satisfied 10 hungry stomachs and the graduates were happy as all food served right before us were what most people would think about comfort food. It certainly was  the most delish monster so far. I just hope the credit card issue won't happen again.

Filipino Style Spaghetti

Filipino style Spaghetti
What makes a Filipino style spaghetti Filipino? Most pasta dishes including spaghetti are well known to have been originated from Italy, but just like any other dish, we Filipinos learned how to adjust the recipe to satisfy our taste. While some versions cook their spaghetti with shrimps, larger than life meatballs, italian sausages, herbs we Filipinos grew up serving this dish with hotdogs and sweet spaghetti sauce instead of Italian sauce that's why our version is much sweeter. So who do you think reigns in cooking the most delicious Filipino style spaghetti? For me, ask the Bee! :)

Italian Dinner: Amici on Pizza, Pasta and Gelato

Amici is an Italian restaurant best for those who are craving for good quality pizza, pasta and gelato. Scouting for a resto serving Italian dishes, my friend MC and I decided to take our dinner at Amici. That was actually our first time to try their food and we loved it!

Italianni's Restaurant: A Lunch to Remember

I love Italian dishes - pasta and pizza! Mmmm...heaven! When my younger brother Arthur graduated with a Nursing degree in DLSU, we opted to celebrate at one of my favorite Italian restaurants - Italianni's.

Together with mom, Arthur and our youngest Hannah, we drive to Italianni's Restaurant at the Alabang Town Center branch. Spend some nice family chit chat and few minutes later, our orders has arrived.
