Recipe: Crunchy Tilapia in Orange Sauce

Tilapia has always been one of the regular food served in our house. Inspired by one of the recipes from a  food show I've seen recently, I decided to add a little bit of adjustments here and there thus the birth of this yet another of my experimental recipe - Crunchy Tilapia in Orange Sauce
Crunchy Tilapia in Orange Sauce

3-4 Tilapia sliced into 3 pieces each
3 egg whites
salt and pepper
1 tbsp flour
japanese bread crumbs

Orange sauce:
1/2 cup Orange juice
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp cold water  

1. In a bowl, mix egg whites, flour, salt and pepper. Mix the cut tilapias (you can also use tilapia fillets) and cover with bread crumbs.
2. Fry the tilapias until golden brown and set aside.

For the orange sauce
1. In a hot pan, add the orange sauce, brown sugar and soy sauce. let it simmer and add the dissolved cornstarch. Wait til the sauce thickens.
2. Pour the sauce over the fried tilapias and serve.
